Oak Grove Classical Academy is slowly coming into full view. It has been quite a journey, but we are all so excited to see the doors open Fall 2008. In order to raise funds for school equipment, furniture, and supplies, the board is putting on a silent auction this Friday night. With live jazz by one of our board members, and swanky hors d’oeuvres, this event is set to be a night of fun for a very good cause. For all you locals, please contact me for information to attend!
I finished a painting this week to donate to the silent auction. “Tea Rose” is one of my favorite floral paintings I’ve done–I’m almost a little sad to let it go since I have a perfect place to hang it in my home. Nevertheless, I will put it up for auction this Friday, and pray it will sell for a good, hefty price! Here are some pictures of the initial and final stages of the painting:

Wow, Ruth, that is amazing! Beautiful, beautiful work, and I totally see why the painting has captured a special place in your heart.
I’ll be praying for a great turn out on Friday evening, with wonderful provisions from God to meet the needs of the new school. Please let know how it goes.
That is beautiful! I’m sure there will be plenty of buyers wanting that!
Oh Ruth! It is exquisite. The petals look so soft and the color so rich. A true gift from the Lord to paint His delicate creation so boldly. Wow. I am giving Him many thanks for many things in your family today. Love you guys.
GORGEOUS!!!! I’m sure you’re aware that flowers are one of the most difficult things to paint due to their airy delicacy and transposing that “feel” onto canvas, but I just wanted others to know this very thing. Is it oil, or acrylic??
Fantastic job!!
