Our oldest attends Oak Grove Classical Academy, where phonograms are taught using the Spell To Write and Read curriculum.  We homeschool three days a week, and review these phonograms using a cd.  Number 3 is always asking to do “a, A, ah.”

If you are local, and are interested in a classical, Christian, homeschool/traditional school education for your child, we are taking new registrations now for the 2009-2010 school year!

We use the same phonograms…and same program for that matter. We have ours laminated so they will last through all the children. I need to start having my two year old attempt them too! It sounds like the academy we attend is very similar to yours. We love it! Here’s the link if you’re interested.

That is SO cute. Pretty impressive too I might add. We are going to start doing more homeschooling with my 2 next year. Where did you get those flash cards? I don’t have a clue what I’m getting into=)

Gotta’ love the phonograms. I’m amazed how direct instruction of them pulls language together for kids.

    Happy learning!

    Tasha,
Homeschooling is wonderful. Spell To Write and Read is an excellent resource. It can be a bit daunting at first, (which could also be said of homeschooling in general), but once you get the hang of it–it’s amazingly rewarding!
