Cotton hand-crocheted washcloths or dishcloths feel extravagant to me. Sometimes the simplest of things are the most luxurious. I think they fascinate me because I grew up with cello sponges for dishes and terrycloth washcloths for faces. There is nothing wrong there, I just find crocheted washcloths beautiful, functional, and oh so affordable to create. You can wash them in blazing hot water…and they last forever. I dream of having a stack of them, folded prettily–just waiting to mop up a messy face or scrub the breakfast table. The best part is that having a stack of these babies cost you very little more than time. That’s time in the car, time watching a movie…time when you can use your mind on other things while your fingers supply your collection of dishcloths.
