Would today be a good day to remind you that brisk mornings and cooler nights are just right around the corner? The smell of freshly sharpened pencils will soon become wafts of cider simmering stovetop. Pumpkins, hay bales, golden carpet of leaves…they all await you. A pretty scarf, fingerless gloves, your favorite boots…they’ll be here before you know it.

And as this deliciously colored set was a little something I made for someone special, I need to get inspired, and make myself some in anticipation of the days ahead, when we may welcome lightly chilled noses and fingertips

*Pattern for fingerless gloves came from this website.*

How darling! Way beyond my ability but cute! Perhaps an idle hands project for my daughters this fall (ha, ha on the idle hands time). Hope you get yours made too.

The color reminds me of goldenrod. I love the short length of the scarf!

That’s rather beautiful! I can’t wait for my first fall experience. None of that in Asia.

    Thanks for sharing. :)

Stop! You’re killing me!!!!! Just yesterday I got all heart-warmed sitting on the patio in the evening post-rain breeze when I saw leaves falling. Gosh, this feels like fall, I thought, and surely it’s not. Then I thought… late August…… oh my! It IS around the corner and I got a huge wave of excitement. Your post just throws me over the edge! “The smell of freshly sharpened pencils will soon become wafts of cider simmering stovetop.” I’m dying! haha. I’ve been giving Josiah iced tea at dinner, and lately hot tea (“warm tea” we call it… he’s in that stage where he gets worried by the word “hot”) in a real mug, and he is loving it. I thought to myself, if I say this is what we do at dinner, then it shall be. It doesn’t have to be an every once in a while thing. Not to make it a law by any means, but to relish in making things special always. In letting our kids relish good things from mother even at the age of 2. Sometimes, meal time is the most calm togetherness we all have as a family. No wonder it is special and should be celebrated.

For my birthday, I baked 3 things! hahaha. that’s what i wanted to do. As part of my gift, Zach went out and bought all the weird healthy ingredients for my favorite healthy homemade bread without telling me. (He’s learning what makes me happy! hahah. It takes them a while, doesn’t it.) So he watched the kids wihle I made my mom’s fav morning special French Puff muffins (nostalgic), oatmeal cookies for Josiah, and bread for us. Heaven.

i can’t find how to comment at your site! hmmmmm.. but this works, too.. and maybe you’ve changed it.

love you more and more each year
