Now that DSLRs are ubiquitous, many of us are wondering how to lug our camera and lens(es) to the zoo, birthday parties, and even Starbucks, in hopes of capturing memorable moments of our kiddos in action. If you are like me, you’ve probably got a diaper bag and often a purse already, and the last thing you want is to carry a ginormous black camera bag that screams, “Look at my photography gear!” At least, that’s how I feel. I’ve spent a little time doing the research online, and thought I’d share my findings with you:
For the stylish photographer, if you don’t mind carrying yet another bag for a camera (or the hefty pricetag), here are some of the industry’s most fashionable options:

Here are some less fashionable, but very functional options:
(The SlingShot is the one we currently own. It’s great for hiking, travel, and the Man Of The House.)

And, lastly, neoprene sleeves are an option for when you might want protection for your camera when taking it on the go with you…say, in a diaper bag!

I decided to go with these last two neoprene items, which are on my way to my house.

or to be used with this bag:
…so that I can spend more time focusing on taking pics of this special man in my life:
I hope this post was helpful if you are currently looking for options for keeping on the go with your camera!

You know, the main reason (besides the apps) that I believe iPhoneography has become so popular is because people are TIRED of hauling around their camera gear. I never thought I’d get to that point, but more often than not these days I’m opting for our point-n-shoot or, gasp, no camera at all, when I’m out and about.
But those bags… oh how they make me drool!
I’ve not used iPhoneography yet. There are so many good apps out there for photography now. I’m still lugging my dslr around, though, because I need the practice shooting!
I’ve found a scarf wrapped around my big Canon works pretty well…but you’ll have to report back how the neoprene sleeve turns out!
Yes I’ve done the scarf thing -works okay
But my best recent investment was a Kelly Moore bag. So good for travel. And for every kind of photo occasion … Formal and informal. Go Kelly Moore .. You won’t regret it.
